The training landscape is evolving, and False Bay TVET College is at the forefront, recognizing that the traditional school product is not the only productive means of learning. Their NCV programmes are created for students who would like to commence their journey toward a satisfying job early on.

CareersPortal.co.za had a chat with the Head of Section for Engineering Studies at False Bay College, about their offering.

False Bay's Engineering NCV programmes are offered at two campuses: Westlake Campus and Khayelitsha Campus. These Engineering programmes are for a three-year period.

NCV Engineering Course Entry Prerequisites

These courses begin at NCV level two as well as minimal need would then be Grade 9 certificate with a pass in Arithmetic.

When the student finishes NCVLevel 2, they'd then have attained a grade ten certificate. NCV Level three would be grade 11 and NCV Level four is grade twelve.

NCV Level 4 is at the exit level, remaining equivalent to a Countrywide Senior Certificate (NSC).

Grade 9 is on NQF level one. Our NCV programmes here start NCV level 2 which happens to be equivalent to an NQF level 2.

On which kind of scholars are suited for these programmes, they say that the world is acknowledging that regular education will not be essentially the only way of starting to be an artisan or getting competent therefore if a student knows from an early age what their interests are, the NCV programme is in fact completely suited for that student.
